"Before purchasing Pontem, we were using BSM (Burrowes) software. This program was a DOS program, which created road blocks for updating our system. Some companies told me I would need to input our data manually; others said that the conversion would be quite expensive.
But your representative Conor took on the challenge and gave me demo CD’s and information to help me make my decision. Conor and I worked together by phone and internet to fine tune the package that would suit our needs.
I was very pleased with how quickly the data conversion went. I enjoyed working with Conor and Jason. They were both always very friendly and patient with me and our program. When the time came to down load our information and do the final conversion and reinstall. The turn around time was quicker than I was expecting, and we only had to make one minor change to the conversion.
I am very please with the way the program operates and how quickly I can pull needed reports and client information. It also allows for inputting more information on each record. The old program limited the amount of notes we could input. It also didn’t track the transfer of property from one owner to another. Now I can see who owned the lot to start with and who currently owns it. With the image module I can scan and save the document showing the transfer signatures for future reference. Inputting into the system is so much easier as is backing up of our files.
Having this new program has also helped us to project more accurately the length of time we have remaining in our current Cemetery. The old program wouldn’t tell me where I had available spaces. But now with just a few clicks of the mouse I know how many spaces are available in each block or in the entire Cemetery.

"First, I want to thank all the support staff at Pontem for all your help with our software install. Our initial install was at a remote site to evaluate your product, and create a database with actual records. The Pontem staff was very helpful as we went through that process.
Our cemetery was established in 1908, and going from an old style book system to yours took some minor adjustments, but as you work with the software, you can easily make the management of a cemetery very easy, user friendly, with a quick supply of information.
I worked with Jeff on the software move on Thursday. As expected, there were some minor issues with McAfee, but Jeff was able to handle all of the issues. We look forward to your future releases and your continued support as we enhance our database. Again, my thanks to all the staff. I think we made a lot of progress in a very short period of time."

"Berkshire Township had cemetery software for years and had years of frustration and poor service from the Company. Although we wanted to make a change, we had concerns over the hassle of a transition to a new system since we could not export our data from the old system for data conversion. We had months of continued discussion about changing software vendors. Having had such a bad experience, many were quite tentative about taking a 'chance' by purchasing new software from another vendor. We finally made the decision to 'take a chance' on Pontem.
Needless to say, it was one of the best decisions our township ever made. We were able to enter two large cemeteries with over 200 years of data with relative ease. The training and cooperation with the Pontem support staff was exemplary. I can only wish other townships would take a chance on Pontem. They will be glad they did."

Finding any specific information was a challenge. The City purchased Pontem software for the cemetery and now have advanced from the 19th century to the 21st century.
