Pontem Apps Metadata Repair --------------------------- If the metadata database on the server in a pontem installation becomes damaged, trouble may be experienced with license triggers / license counting. To check for possible metadata license problems: 1. Ensure all users are out of the applications. 2. Stop and restart the firebird server (in Control Panel on the server machine).metmetadatafix 3. Open the application on the server, and WITHOUT OPENING A DATABASE, go to the Admin..Licensing form 4. Check for correct total licenses shown and all licenses available. 5. Open additional copies of the application on the server, and as you open each additional application open a database within it to. 6. Each time, return to the first copy that has no database open, and re-enter the admin.. license form to see that the license count is reducing as expected. Example: First copy of TA: no database open -> File..Admin..Licensing shows 3 licenses, 3 avail Start a second copy of TA: open a database (on the same server) Start a third copy of TA: open another database (on the same server) Back at the first copy of TA that is still running: File..Admin..Licensing shows 3 licenses, 1 avail If anything isn't working with the license counting: 1. Close all copies of the app so no-one has any database open. 2. Stop and restart firebird server if possible 3. Get a copy of \\phanni\temp\metadatafix.bat onto the machine 4. As the command prompt, run metadatafix servername 5. This should rebuild the metadata, and leave a backup of the metadata in metadata.fbk in the current dir 6. Go back into apps and see if license problem is resolved. Note: The metadatafix.bat can be run from a client machine if reqd
